    Description: We are an academic faculty practice group of more than 1,500 physicians and health-care providers who practice at several major medical centers in the greater Seattle area and community-based practice sites around the state of Washington.    Our clinicians are among the best and most sought- after in the world providing care during more than a million patient visits each year in our outpatient primary-care clinics, specialty clinics, and emergency departments. We are recruiting for a Compliance Data Specialist.  Reflecting the growing need for managing computer-based information systems in administrative organizations, this position is responsible for organizing, managing and trending data for both project and operational purposes within the Compliance Department as well as serving as the system administrator for department resources.  The successful incumbent will translate complex data from multiple systems into manageable information and serve as a key resource for the entire compliance team.

    Essential duties of the position include:

    • Provide analytical and report generation support for comparative analysis of provider billing compliance using CMS billing performance data, UHC academic medical center data and other data sources
    • Design and prepare routine and ad hoc reports to assist with risk assessment and compliance program monitoring
    • Coordinate off-site Compliance Audit workflow including remote access connectivity process, data input from coding contractors and transfer of initial audit work to appropriate Compliance Department staff for further work 
    • Assist the Chief Compliance Officer and Compliance Department Managers with project management by building Gantt and PERT charts for defined projects and maintain critical path reporting for projects 
    • Serve as system administrator for the Compliance Audit System and ensure appropriate safeguards of PHI
       

    Skills and Qualifications:

    The successful candidate will demonstrate the following attributes:

    • Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience 
    • Proficiency with Windows based software and Microsoft Office Suite products including Access and Project and generic project management tools such as PERT charts, Gantt charts, and Pareto diagrams 
    • Excellent skills in data analysis and data presentation using Excel, Excel Pivot Tables, Visio and other graphical statistical display applications
    • Skill conducting Internet research 
    • Ability to work effectively at all levels of an organization 
    • Direct experience in a healthcare billing organization preferred

    • OSX, networking architectures, TCP/IP, LAN support, and systems.
    • Experience with database and other utilities or methodologies for the collection, processing, review, and production of electronic and paper documents responsive to legal or regulatory compliance discovery requests.
    • Experience in computer forensics, electronic discovery, technical investigations and/or information security a plus.
